    Back at it

Hi! I just completed my first run on this app and I’m super excited to work hard and stick with it! I am a former collegiate athlete and am not too happy with how I’ve let myself get this far out of shape the last few years. Enough is enough and though it isn’t my immediate goal to get back into my college playing shape, it would be nice to be able to go through drills and explain things to the high school team I’m coaching without being super winded or sore afterward :) I’m also getting married next summer so I’d like to be comfortable with how I look and feel way before and way after the big day. I’d like to not look back at my photos and wonder what the heck happened to me! Anyway, I’m pretty pumped to be in this community and I wish everyone the best of luck with your goals too! We got this!

  2. Hi! I'm Jen and new to running. I am starting this running app as a friend of mine runs and recommended this app. Just wanted to say hello! Jen

  3. I loved reading this thread! I think the most important is they everyone is sticking to it even when the runs aren’t perfect. That’s awesome! It’s so easy to quit when we don’t do things the “right” way. If you’re moving toward your goals and feeling better while you do it, then it is the right way! Keep it up, you guys rock!

    Music

I have an Apple watch (series 3) and use the 10k PRO app in standalone mode. I love it since I no longer have a bulky phone to drag around. I have a cheap pair of bluetooth headphones I have paired with my watch. I'm able to use 10k Pro and listen to music I have stored on my watch just fine. The voice and audio cues are a little weak, but I can still hear them pretty clear, depending on the music. There doesn't appear to be anyway to adjust the volume of these cues. As to the haptic feedback, I can feel it when its time to switch walking/jogging although I did have to tighten my watch strap a little more than it usually is to be sure. The only real problem I seem to have is that the 10k Pro app wants to be the dominate app when you look at the watch, so switching songs is a bit of a pain as you have to scroll back to the music app each time. Plus changing the music volume using the watch dial doesn't always work right when playing music simultaneously with the 10K Pro app, it works just fine any other time so I know it's not the watch or the headphones.

  7. Hey there! My friends call me Thunder, and I am 21, female, and fairly active (but not a runner). I have to run errands for my dad all the time, which frequently involves lifting/moving things, and doing a lot of walking in between. I haven't started the c25k but I feel like I could manage the first week pretty well - maybe even the second week without too much pain and strife, but we will see. I ultimately want to build endurance. I am not so much interested in running in races, but I definitely want to be strong and fit. I have always been relatively out of shape and at toward the max end of my recommended Body Mass Index. I want to feel good about myself and I think running is where I will find that. My ultimate goal is to be able to run 10 miles in one go with relative ease. I am not sure how long that will take but I would like to imagine with constant practice and always pushing myself I can get there in one year. Here's to getting stronger, faster and and healthier!
