  1. Greetings everyone, My name is Ebony and im a want to be runner. Lol. I’ve tried this program several time in the past and have given up each time. Hopefully I can remain motivated to continue. My goal is to run (not Walk) a 5k in the Caribbean while on vacation this summer.

    1st timer here

I’ve always wanted to love to run. I hate it. But I started last night. Thought I was going to die. But I didn’t. Am I supposed to run a day then rest a day?

Yep. Run and than rest and run and rest.... You can do some other form of exercise on the off days but the idea is to "run" only 3 days so you get a day to recoup.

    Goal-Become a Runner

I would like to be able to run 4 miles (almost) daily, and not feel like I’m going to die. I’d like to look forward to it as an escape and feel more energy throughout my day.

    Treadmill for now

Hello Susan! Here is the one thing I have learned: Be patient! All of this takes time and sometimes I get frustrated. When that happens, I reach out to someone I know. To keep me moving I started listening to podcasts. Some are really good, others not so much lol Music is great but I need to change it up so the podcasts are nice. I won’t let myself make excuses. There are days I want to sleep in but I literally say outloud “get yer butt out of bed. It’s only a half hour”. Of course some days are longer but in general 30 minutes of hard work is sufficient. If you need to vent, or talk or want a little motivation it helps to be accountable to someone else. You know what you need to do, but talking to someone else helps! You can always hit me up here or send me a direct message! Hang in there, you CAN do this!

  10. I'm just starting today. Hopefully you are going strong and ready for your first 5k. Do you have any tips to stay on track and motivated?

  11. Gosh, wouldn't that be helpful and motivating to see it hanging out there on the calendar.

  12. Hi, I'm Susan and my goal is to complete a 5k. I would prefer to run it but have TKR and not sure how running is going to play out for me. I may end up speed walking which is a sport I am keenly interested in but cannot find any local (Sacramento) groups or someone to hire as a coach while learning. So, I'm here, C25K will most certainly get me closer to my goal than doing nothing at all... hahaha. #wishmeluck to stick with my determinations.

  13. Hang in there Ebony. I too have given up in the past. It's not a failure if you learn and grow each time. We will make it to the finish line this time!

  14. I have walked several 5k races but this summer my family and I are going to WDW and on a Disney Cruise where I want to not only have the stamina to make it all day Florida heat but to also run (not Walk) in the Caribbean islands 5k race.
