  1. http://www.zenlabsfitness.com/how-the-8020-diet-can-help-improve-your-health/ What Is The 80/20 Rule? The 80/20 rule basically states that you should be ‘on’ the plan around 80% of the time, which then allows you time to have freedom and flexibility the other 20% of the time. Most people when they first start out on a healthy eating plan expect themselves to be 100% healthy 24/7.

    Treadmill for now

Hello! Just getting going with the app. Right now the weather here isn't fit for running so I am on the treadmill. I purposely restarted week one. Trying to make sure I am adapted before I move to the next week. This is all very new to me but I am determined to succeed!

    Play list ideas

Anyone have a playlist they wanna share? I listen to albums and such but need some fresh ideas for mixes. One of my favorite training albums is Linkin Park's Meteora...

    Why are you running?

I’m running for my health. I’m 41 and married with 3 children. I have PMDD (look it up if you don’t know in case you have other women in your life with symptoms like mine) and I need to run to help me. My doctor wants me to lose weight before June or she will be putting me on meds for high cholesterol. I don’t want any meds. Im a former runner from my high school days, but it’s been a LONG time and the couch loves me. Im hoping I will not give up this race! My hope is to some day run a 1/2 this year. Why are you running?

    Treadmill for now

I’ll also be on a treadmill for now. Michigan weather isn’t fit for running here. Too much snow and ice. I’ll be hitting the gym here in a few hours. Treadmill and 30 minute circuit are what I have planned for today.

  6. Hi there! I am an avid hiker/backpacker who is looking for an outdoor workout I can do year-round to strengthen my knees and ankles and keep me conditioned for summertime hiking goals. I have never run before but am looking forward to the challenge of it. I do worry about building endurance but I know that comes with time. Would love any tips or encouragement others have! I am from Upstate NY so I’ve chosen to begin my running journey in the snowy winter. We’ll see how it goes.

    New to running

This is going to be a whole new thing for me. I’ve walked actively all my life, but have never made the leap to running. I’m a cancer survivor and just recently hit my 5-year survival mark. I gained over 100 pounds during my treatment and pity party and still have about 60 of that left to lose. My running friends have really encouraged me to start running to help get rid of the weight and several told me C25K was the best way to go. I start on Monday!
