  1. If anyone is about to tackle the dreaded W5D3 run, I want to pay it forward and offer some words of encouragement. I read what others had to say the whole week prior to my first attempt at the 20 minute, no walk break run. I was vey apprehensive about it to say the least. I am in the process of attempting to lose 50 lbs and lead a healthier life style. I made a half hearted attempt at C25K a few years ago and I don't think I made it to week 2. I decided to give it a another try and actually commit to the process. I read all the success stories on here and other forums and decided, if others could do it, so could I. I started week one on 7/20 and thought I would die after the first running segment. But, I didn't! And I kept going, I had to repeat the first day of week 4 (the first 5 minute run) and I thought I would die,,,,but I didn't. So, here I am. I completed W5D3 today!! First attempt!! With diet control and consistent exercise, I've lost 11lbs . It was difficult, but not impossible. I mentally prepared myself for the challenge and had the mindset of, "If I cant do it today, then I will do it tomorrow. If not tomorrow, then the next day...I will do it." Don't give up. Don't be too hard on yourself. You are capable of so much more than you know. Surprise yourself!! I know I did!!

  2. At the end of week 2 I looked at week 3 and thought 'no way can I run for 3 minutes' and I managed it. Same thought about the 5 minute runs in week 4, but apparently I can do it and I ran both sets, even though the second one was uphill! So proud of myself! Just got to do it again on Wednesday and Friday!

I wear them when I run to prevent Shinn splints. They help support the muscles of my calfs.
