  1. I still consider myself "new" to running because I've been docile for so many years... and I'm pushing 50... I've made it to Week 7, and the only thing that's got me this far is the fact my speed is MY speed. I HAVE to pace myself and start jogging slow. Seriously, a speed walker could zoom past some of my jogging, especially the first couple of minutes. You're not racing, you're building endurance. On the days you don't run, try a couple of circuits that strengthen your leg muscles, like lunges, squats, jumping jacks, mountain climbers, etc. Just my thoughts...

  2. Hey you're still lapping everyone who sits on their couch! I only run 3 days a week, I have rheumatoid arthritis and I need rest between runs or I'm in a lot of pain. But I repeat weeks as necessary until I feel like my chest can tolerate the workouts. I just started week 4 and I started running in April.

  3. Ok I've moved on from week 2. I think I'll be on week 3 for quite awhile. I can do all the runs but the last 3 minutes. Can only get 2 minutes done before I feel like my lungs will explode. Slow and steady I guess.
