Hi there, I'm officially starting tomorrow and wondered whether people tend to stick to the same running route and what time of day do people prefer? I need to try & get over feeling self conscious when running in daylight in public places !

Also, iv upped my protein intake lately after hearing a protein based diet is the way to go but I feel bulkier and I don't want to overdo it on the protein! How much do people recommend for getting toned but not bulking out?! Thanks!

Hi there,

Welcome on here and Congrats, I run in different places, sometimes in hills, sometimes flat.  I go in the AM as i tend to be lazy if I do not.  lol.    Do not feel self conscious about running in public.  I just don my sunglasses and focus.....   I am running and they are not..

I found this awesome article online you can check out on protein intake.  http://www.acaloriecounter.com/diet/how-much-protein-per-day/   Make sure you go to the link to read the whole article, ok?

Hope this helps you, hugs.

Person, Situation & Goals Ideal Daily Protein Intake Average healthy sedentary adult (male or female) that does NOT work out or have any related goals. This is just what I consider to be a good minimum daily protein intake for general health/function. 0.5-0.7 grams of protein per pound of body weight. Average healthy adult (male or female) that IS doing some form of exercise regularly or IS trying to improve their body (lose fat, build muscle, etc.). This is the minimum I’d recommend in this case. 0.8-1 grams of protein per pound of body weight. Average healthy adult FEMALE whose primary goal is building muscle, getting “toned,” maintaining muscle while losing fat, increasing strength or improving performance. 1-1.2 grams of protein per pound of body weight. Average healthy adult MALE whose primary goal is building muscle, getting “toned,” maintaining muscle while losing fat, increasing strength or improving performance. 1-1.5 grams of protein per pound of body weight.

Hi Lisa its awesome that you have started. I already completed the C25k app and done my first 5k with my husband(a triathelete :-p). I used to hate running but now I love it. I always wake up at 4:15am and do my route every other day during the week.
