I'm 38, hit 14 stone (196 pounds) for the first time ever a few days ago. I'm 5ft 11inches tall.

I've been talking about doing this couch to 5k for the last 2 years but haven't had the courage.

I was very very active and skinny as a teenager but my fitness went downhill in my 20s and I've been lazy since.

I wanted to create this post both to keep a track of how I am doing and to motivate myself.

I am so so unfit. I'm afraid of bottling it half way through my first day and giving up

For anyone interested I'll keep you posted.

I'm starting today too. This isy second time, I got to the end of week 6 last time. I went on holiday for a week and never got to week 7. Each day I found it a real slog, but as the weeks go by although you still feel shattered afterwards you start to realise you can jog after all! I was doing 25 minutes non stop jogging after starting out doing 60/90 second bursts :)

What ever you do, don't go back on your decision to start. If it gets hard keep moving, even if it's just a shuffle. I find I run in the early morning and it's a great way to start the day. This is my second time with this app. I got to week 4 and had a two week break. Decided to start from scratch and don't regret it at all. All the best mate. Post again and let everyone know how your doing.

  • 3 weeks later...

Hi I have been doing this app for the past two days and love it. I have never run before but has always wanted to learn. This app has been good for me as I do not give up and it makes me want to carry on to the end.

I am starting this app tomorrow. I use to run avidly and had a set back in feb with a torn tendon. Getting past the injury has been a set back physically and emotionally but I have been fully released to begin training and need some help doing this in a slow but steady pace. Very excited to a new life style.
