Run/Walk... or just run?

Hey all! I’ve just purchased this app to hopefully find some structure in learning how to run a full marathon. I guess my question is... should I follow the instructions per day? Why do I need to run and then walk? If I already have the ability to run six miles without walking breaks.... should I still take the walking breaks? What pace should I be running at in the running intervals? Thanks for any information!

If you can run 6 miles without walking, you don't need this app. You need an app to train you for a half-marathon or a full marathon, and start at least 5 or 6 weeks in, or wherever the level fits someone who can run a 10k without a rest.
