Cadence for running

Hi All - new couch potato with a goal of a 5K this spring!

Question...the app has 3 runs per week.   How should I space that out?   I guess I was under the impression that I would be running every day.  

I started my first run yesterday and did the second today.  I then realized there is only 1 more for this week.  

Also, what should I be doing the days that im not running?
