llyn
Greetings, I used to be very fit but developed Hashimoto's (autoimmune slow thyroid - not uncommon) which was not diagnosed for several years. By the time it was I had put on 30kg, stopped exercising because of the tiredness & (apparently) low iron & very low testosterone (women need it too apparently). 15 years later I am prepared to take up running again after a brief fling in the 80's. As an adult primarily I was a swimmer (60 laps every 2 days) but I enjoyed running & jogging as a kid. I need to get fit again - my life has become very stressful after my intellectually disabled sister has come into my care. I don't normally engage on line but I live in the country & think that I will need help with remaining motivated. So ... Hi! I'm living in a country town also (in Australia) and have never been a runner so I find these forums both helpful and motivating!
