Just downloaded...scared to start

Recommended Posts

Just downloaded the app on recommendation of a co-worker (who runs half marathons all the time). I've always been an active person playing softball, basketball, etc. However, I've never really been a small person. I'm currently about 75 pounds over weight and terrified to start(feel like I'm setting myself up to fail). But I feel I need to do this for my health, confidence and to be a good role model for my patients (I'm a physical therapist assistant). Any words of advice and/or motivation are GREATLY appreciated!

Hey everyone!! I started today and I feel like I failed but I'm not giving up yet! I am an active person I've been dancing my whole life however I've never been a runner. I'm about 100 pounds overweight but somehow in my head I feel like with the support of others I can be successful in this program. Anyone have advice to get through the first week? I only made it through the first 2 run/walk cycles. Help!

I'm 6' 270 lbs and I demolished 1-1/2 miles without stopping, with the help of this app. It's made so that each run is attainable, which is why the running seems almost addictive. Don't give up, stick to the program, and you'll be running distances in no time. What helped me was telling people that I was going to run a 5k. If people are always asking you about it, you will be more likely to stick to it. Kinda like accidental accountability.
