pinniped
I just finished W6D1, but I've actually been running now for eight weeks since I repeated W5D1 and W5D2 a few times each. I've drastically reduced my alcohol consumption, don't eat fast food, and don't eat junk food. I cook fresh meats and vegetables from scratch, no "add water, stir and heat" kinds of food in our home (I'm a caterer/baker.). And yet, not a single pound lost. I can tell I'm getting stronger, and I'm covering more distance with each run. But how is this ever going to get better with my extra fifty pounds to lug around around? Anyone have any ideas? I'm frustrated
amaleigh
Do you measure yourself? Sometimes you'll lose inches instead of pounds when you increase activity levels.. Maybe you should begin tracking your waist, hips, thighs, etc instead of beating yourself up about the scale!
pinniped
I didn't mean to give the impression that I'm beating myself up. That is not the case. I'm doing what I can. I'd just like to get an idea of what is going on here. I've been tested for hypothyroidism three times in the past six years, and my blood tests come back normal everytime, so I guess it cannot be that. And yes, I do measure, and no inches lost either. pinniped
Thank you, TrishE, that is helpful. My oldest daughter is a tea connoisseur, I checked my cabinets, I have SIX different types of green tea. And I was speaking with a friend who is a physical therapist, and she says for fat loss, nothing beats weight training. So here I go. essotelou
Are you sticking with your calorie intake, maybe use my fitness pal to track your food intake for a week just to see if there are any changes.
RunningforHealing14
Maybe it's the amount of food? Even if it's extremely healthy, if the intake is high it could promote no weight loss or even weight gain. Also green tea! Yes TrishE! Green tea is amazing! Hope this helps! It is very frustrating and hope this goes by fast!!
Stephlams
I had that issue, working out a lot and still actually gaining weight. I thought I ate healthy, described it a lot like you. So i kept a food journal for a week. Turns out my ratio of veggies to fats and carbs was way off. I would never have noticed if i didn't keep track for a while. Everything was healthy, just in the wrong balance. Maybe that's your issue too?
pinniped
The weight and inches finally started coming off about week seven into the program. My husband kept telling me to stick with it, and eventually my body would get over the shock and get with the program, and he was right. I did notice that the more active I became, the better I felt (both physically and mentally), and was able to abstain from snacking and unhealthy treats, which I didn't indulge in all that often anyway, but I'm sure every little bit helps.
