theresa007
How do I go about convincing my body that it is full after a meal with plenty of food and calories but few simple carbs? For now, my body seems certain that if a meal doesn't have bread or pasta or rice or potatoes that it isn't really full. Even when I KNOW I'm full, my brain tells me that I'm not. For pasta and rice, I've gotten accustomed to substituting whole wheat pasta and brown rice. But I probably still eat too many carbs. I really need to add in a second vegetable instead. But when I manage to do so, I'm still craving simple carbs that break down quickly. What can I say? My brain likes a sugar rush. Anyone have strategies that help them with a similar struggle? Thanks. I appreciate any suggestions. -T ItalianDevil032
Guest TrishE
I struggle with the same thing, no worries. Especially after a particularly active day, I drink two glasses of cold water before a meal and wait ten or fifteen minutes, The water helps me feel fuller sooner. Also when you finish a meal set a timer for 20 minutes and give your body time to digest and if after that youre still hungry munch on celery or something that is super healthy but takes forever to eat. That really helped me. I hope this helps a little!
ItalianDevil032
Theresa, what I have found that helps the absolute best for me is Quest bars. They are loaded with protein and fiber, which will most certainly keep you full for a lot longer. Also consider white or oolong teas, as they'll also keep your metabolism burning and ready to go for anything Georgia M
prak2020
Well i have to try TrisheE idea . Biggest mistake i do is that i will go on without food for full day but at end of day i end up eating a lot
loving50+
I had the same problem. For me, a sluggish digestion was the issue. One half teaspoon each of cumin, coriander and ground fennel as a tea in hot water twice a day helped 80%. Fiber solved 10%. Changing the habit was the last but hardest 10%. Good luck. Reel Man
GC CONTROL is a fantastic shake that I drink after my bfast and it helps maintain healthy blood sugar levels all day and it has killed the sugar and carb cravings. It essentially put my body into fat burning mode as well. I would love to share with anyone interested jmakris80@gmail.com
