Hi There,

I try not to take a day off and just REST between those days, do other workouts, like strength training, speed training, body shaping, crossfit, swim, bike, hike, etc.... Keep that body moving...REST when your body says I am tired.  I love to have 1 complete down day.  I run 3-4 days a week, usually Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, only because I have a step/peak training class on Monday & Wednesday nights. If I run in the AM, class is really tough.

You are doing great. proud of you.  Keep it up!!

Thanks KellyAnn!

Any tips for preventing sore shins/ankles - apart from good shoes? Just completed Day 2 week 1. Felt pressure along shins and tight ankles but maybe this is normal?

Also, any breathing tips? In through nose, out through mouth? Help me out you star runners out there...

Hey Newme,

Go to your PC and login to ZenLabs there. You go to your name in the upper right corner. In the drop down box, select profile I think and you can change your profile from there. Add a signature, etc... Hope this helps.

Also, shin splints seem to pretty common on here, search an article online for shin spoints. I do find that not taking off too fast will avoid shin splints. Make sure you breathe deep into your lungs to train your lungs before you run. We don't breathe deep enough. While you run, make you are even breathing, lol, side aches are the number thing that will happen and that is because u you are not breathing right. I hate those with a passion. That will drop you in your tracks. If I run with my mouth open, those danged bugs will get in. Lol. Breathe through your nose and out your mouth.

Hugs to you.
