Just finished Day 1

I have done 5K training before (on my own, and probably not the right way), but I quickly let that hard work and dedication slip when I achieved the weight I wanted. The weight slowly crept back up after a break up, moving, and other life events and I always thought I could just start running again and pick up where I left off.

It's discouraging to think that I once could run a 12 minute mile and now, I'm struggling to jog for 60 seconds. A real eye opener for me. I'm hoping to keep this going, but motivation is a big hurdle for me. I have to have instant gratification with my motivator. Not a goal weight, not a new outfit, etc. If anyone has any ideas, I'd be grateful! Thanks!

Hey Ashley, pleased to meet you!  You've already taken the first step - you are starting.  Hang in there, press on in spite of and because of and you will accomplish any goal you set for yourself.   I concur with KellyAnn ... posting here = instant motivation! I would love to hear how you are doing - up days, down days, missed days and of course successful days!  Cheers!

Even as I write these words, they are also self-encouragement.  :)
