  1. Sugabear...don't get discouraged. Same thing happened to me...I live in MN and did my training on the treadmill. When the weather got decent these last few weeks, I moved outside and just about died on my first run. I knew it was going to be hard but never thought it would be that hard. I just decided to go to week 5 and start from there. I am doing so much better now outside than I ever did on the treadmill inside and I am enjoying it so much more! My suggestion would be to go back to a walk run week where you are comfortable and you will find you can build yourself up again fairly quickly. Enjoy your runs and seriously, don't get discouraged...you're doing great!
  2. TrishE...I took your advice. I completed Week 7 Day 1 this morning. Jogged right through the 25 minutes. It was hard but it wouldn't be worth the feeling of accomplishment if it wasn't, right? Going to do some strength training exercises tomorrow. I found some online for runners so I will start with those. Thanks for your support and encouragement!
  3. Yay! Congrats to you! Great job! I just finished Week 6 Day 3. Can't wait to get where you are! Congrats again!
  4. I was hoping by Week 6 it would get easier but not really. I made it through Week 6 Day 3 without stopping which I had been really worried about. I'm not sure, though, whether I should move on to Week 7 or do Week 6 over until I feel really comfortable running it. Also, I feel like I could use some leg strengthening exercises. Any suggestions? Thanks all!
  5. Thanks TrishE... Yes it is, at least for me! I'm so excited that I can't wait for Week 6! Hope it all keeps going well! My daughter keeps telling me it's all psychological...mind over matter and I agree. I just need to keep psyching myself up for each run. Have a great week/weekend.

  7. Yay! Congrats! It really is amazing!
  8. Finished week 5 today...20 minutes non-stop run. Seriously dreaded day 3 but I nailed it first try. I can't believe just a few short weeks ago I couldn't run for 60 seconds! BUT this 58 year old lady with about 20 extra pounds hanging on, is doing it! And I'm not going to stop! Loving it!
  9. Happy Birthday KellyAnn! The 50's aren't what they used to be...they are so much better! Hope you have a loving, fun-filled day!
  10. Week 3, day 2...I did it! Day 1 was tough but today I flew right through it. Of course I huffed and puffed but what a feeling of accomplishment! KellyAnn, thanks for checking up on me... You're a sweetie! My mantra is "I CAN do it!
  11. Thanks everyone for your support! I CAN DO THIS!!!!
  12. @KelyAnn...thanks for the encouragement. I really appreciate your support! I'm looking forward to starting my new week!
  13. Hey there! I'm a 57 year old female that never ran a day in her life until 2 weeks ago when I started C25k program. My bucket list includes running a 5k with my daughter this spring. When I started the program we were having temps in the high 20's here in MN and I was ok running outside. It has been really cold here recently and I have succumbed to running on the treadmill. One of my concerns running both inside and outside is my speed. I am running but I am running slowly, although not sure what my pace really is. Initially I wasn't concerned about my pace, only worried about getting to the finish line. My question is this...should I be concerned about pace now or finish the program and then work on speed? Any advice or suggestions would really be appreciated.
