    For my sister-Jennifer

My baby sister loved running! She passed away April 21, 2019 from breast cancer, she was only 47. She left behind a beautiful 21 year old daughter and a beautiful 13 year old daughter. The younger is in me and my husbands care now. To honor her memory and love of running, I am going to train to run a minimum of three 5K’s this summer. Day one is in the books! To you, Digger! I love you and miss you!

    Getting to Grips

Morning all! I'm just getting into this. Never enjoyed running, but my wife ran through the C25k once and enjoyed it. She is starting again and I am joining her. I'm running the C25K app on a Samsung S3 watch, which has basic functionality, however does anyone know if there is a way to sync the data from the watch to the Phone app - which has much more functionality? Thanks Good luck everyone.

  3. I am so out of shape, looking forward to getting started. I have a tendency to not stick with things very long. Really want to do this, need to loose weight and feel better. Wish me luck!

    I’m New

Hi everyone. I’m new to this site and I’m new again to running. I am almost 60 years old and I want to learn to run again. Participating in 5K’s isn’t a goal but it would be fun. I hope to find encouragement here!

    I’m New

I am also new as well! I’m on Week 3 of the program, but it’s still a struggle for me. Just hang in there! And be proud of yourself for starting and for any progress you make. It’s not a race, it’s a journey, and you’re doing it for yourself. Good luck!

    Week 3 Day 3 ugh

I just finished Week 3. I am able to do the first 3 minute run, though it definitely is hard. The second 3 minute run is sooo much harder for me. Today I had to stop halfway through that one, walk for thirty seconds, and start again. I just feel out of breath. But I’m going to just repeat Week 3 at least one more time. It’s just reassuring to see I’m not the only one who has to repeat weeks! I can’t imagine doing Week 4 yet omg

  9. Hey there! My friends call me Thunder, and I am 21, female, and fairly active (but not a runner). I have to run errands for my dad all the time, which frequently involves lifting/moving things, and doing a lot of walking in between. I haven't started the c25k but I feel like I could manage the first week pretty well - maybe even the second week without too much pain and strife, but we will see. I ultimately want to build endurance. I am not so much interested in running in races, but I definitely want to be strong and fit. I have always been relatively out of shape and at toward the max end of my recommended Body Mass Index. I want to feel good about myself and I think running is where I will find that. My ultimate goal is to be able to run 10 miles in one go with relative ease. I am not sure how long that will take but I would like to imagine with constant practice and always pushing myself I can get there in one year. Here's to getting stronger, faster and and healthier!

    Training for April 5k

You did great! I cannot imagine being sick in bed and then running a 5K. That right there is total guts woman! I am very proud of you. Keep on keeping on and I'll stay in touch.
