    Getting your metabolism going, and keeping it steady throughout the day will help. Try to eat breakfast within half an hour of waking up, and try eating 5-6 smaller meals throughout the day instead of 3 large meals. Also tracking what you eat is a big help, I use MyFitnessPal, and found it extremely helpful.
