Guest KeavenBoies
Hello all ... I just joined the community of C25K and really feel motivated by all of you. I decided to start to run for 2 main reasons : I want to be able to play as much as I want with my almost 3 years old son and after looking at the pictures of one of my best buddy bachelor week-end. I looked at the pictures and didn't feel proud of my accumulating pounds and pounds slowly for several years. All the guys with me on the picture used to be in good shape, doing lot of sport together some years ago. But now I look at the pictures and see one big guy with his fit buddies and I felt ashamed. I always said that these pounds will be easy to lose and didn't start to do something but over some years ... now it seems like a mountain to climb. I started C25K to go back to the guy I used to be physically and prove to myself that I still can achieve something for myself. My source of motivation : imagine my son and my pregnant girlfriend at the finish line being proud of me. I want to thank everybody you posted their success story... It's really motivating ! Finally, I hope that my words are clear... trying to explain a personnal situation in a language that is not your first one is not always easy. (I'm French). Ashsmile
Thank you for sharing! I never would have guessed English wasn't your first language. That was well put! I like your motivation image. That is good to have so you have something you can call on that when you need some extra strength. A picture is worth a 1000 words. Welcome to the c25K community. I am new as well! Ellen2583
I picture the same thing...this morning I pictured my Dad at the finish line. He's in his 60s and has run both the New York and London marathons and, now that I'm older and appreciate the hard work that would have gone into this (especially New York - a city he is unfamiliar with and he ran in November 2001...a scary time!), I picture how proud he'd be that I'd follow in his footsteps and do the same thing! It's so amazing to read how well everyone is doing and so helpful to find so many other people in the same boat!
