Hi @Izzy3000, My advice would be to just start ASAP.

Here are a few other tips:             

  1. Start slow and take it up from there.
  2. Take care of your body.
  3. Wear Good Shoes.
  4. Eat 5-7 small protein-rich meals a day.  
  5. Shorter steps and slowing down will help you get more mileage out of your legs.
  6. You can get faster later, and that's fine.
