hsmit15
Hi! I'm hayley, I'm almost 18 and I'm out of shape. I have never been one for running for too long because I was born with a heart murmur which makes it hard to run for too long. Just 2 years ago I joined the track team to see if I could do it without my heart getting in the way. But a week later I got sick because of female problems and had to go on a medicine and since then I have gained 40 pounds. A week later it was spring break and I was going out of town and I ended up hurting my foot really badly (to this day my foot swells up in tennis shoes). I have attempted to workout many times but I fail because I get busy and too tired after a long day at school so I don't workout. I downloaded this app and did week 1 day 1 with no problems (partially because I didn't wear tennis shoes). I'm also in need of support from others doing this as I will support them too. I'm easiest contacted through instagram, so if you wanna join me in my journey I would also love to support you and make a new friend follow me at hsmit15 I seriously want to do this and need some friends as I know myself and many others are way embarrassed by this kind of topic. KellyAnn
Hi Hayley, I responded to you yesterday and I do not think it posted. Anyways, congrats on beginning. AS long as you have been cleared by a DR., then happy running. They do make those toe shoes now which are incredible. You could try those. We are all here for each other. There is an accountabilty group in the General Chat topic. Lots post there. There might be some that would love to follow you on instagram and be your buddy.. I will check ya out, but these forums are amazing and we are all in it together. Good luck and keep us posted.
hsmit15
Thanks! I have thought about those, I tried a pair on once but didn't like the way they made my feet feel! Who knows, but I've been cleared and my foot still hurts but maybe when I get a new pair of shoes it will be better DVaknin
KellyAnn
Hi Hayley. I added you on Instagram. I have a few of the toes shoes, but i live in the country and those mountain shoes are not good on rocks, lol. I miss wearing socks.. I am now using them as water shoes when I kayak. lol Check out ASICS shoes, and maybe buy one size bigger.. Happy Running!
DVaknin
Hey Hayley! I'm in LOVE with the Nike Pegasus shoe. I own two pairs of the Pegasus 30, so comfortable. They are a bit pricey but well worth it. Check out some outlets or online for a chapter price, especially because the new Pegasus 31 just came out. Good Luck Girl! You Can Do It!! Guest Ktydid1814
If you can, find a local shoe store that actually fits you for the correct shoe, they will talk to you about your struggles and size you correctly, watch you walk to see your step and have you run on a treadmill once you find a shoe that is comfortable. It is amazing the difference it makes! The shop will be specific to running.
