Guest Nola6
I just completed day 1 of week 5 and although I feel better while running (at least at the beginning) but have not changed in size or appearance. I am at least 80# overweight and had really hoped I'd "see" a difference by now...
Deepa
Hi, nutrition is important too while wantung is lose weight. Did u make any changes in your diet?
Guest DS
Running alone is only burning maybe 900 calories each week and you need to burn 3500 more than you eat to lose 1lb. So you need to pay attention to your diet. Saying that, one month is too soon to notice a difference in my experience. You need to give it a couple of months. Guest ioana
While I understand your frustration, keep in mind that this is not a weight loss program. The main goal of it is to give you the tools you need to work towards weight loss - you build endurance so you can then regularly run enough and then lose weight. I finished the C25K program a few weeks ago, lost about 5 kg (not a log but still visible) and somehow hit a barrier. I am now on the 10k program and am still not losing weight (and I do watch my diet). I feel discouraged too but I refuse to let this defeat me. Don't give up! The feeling you get when doing something you didn't think possible is just priceles.. Hang in there and don't give up. The weight loss will naturally follow, just give yourself a chance. KellyAnn
Hi All, I think we are all in the same boat here. I feel the same way. I have been working out really hard, (I am a Paleo girl), I have lost inches but not a lot of weight. Like Iona said, you have to change your diet. No more cocktails for me, even though I am under my calorie goal for the day, I have to cut that out as it is not helping at all. I HATE DIETS!, so Meat, Veggies, Fruits, NO PROCESSED food. Cheat for 1-2 meals a week.. that is it. Me??? It is Pizza on friday nights (thin crust), and maybe a dessert on saturdays. Your body needs that and trust me, you will not gain weight eating it either. my Husband absolutely loves The 4 Hour Body Diet. Great book, great concept. Meat, Veggies, Beans, One huge Cheat day on saturdays. It is a good one. I LOVE beans, but uhhhh, you know,,,lol. They are not friendly to you sometimes. Primal Blueprint Paleo 4 Hour Body Weight Watchers and so on. You have to choose what you like... MyFitnessPal is a great app too and there are a lot of us on that one helping each other. ANways, good luck and ask questions. On my site www.Cavegirlcancook.com under health and fitness tab, there are calculators for you to see what you need to eat every day , try it out. Good Luck! Keep us posted.
Guest Kelly_209
I've heard this saying many times "You can't out train a bad diet." So, if you aren't changing what you eat/the way you eat, exercise alone won't help. Not only that, I've learned from myself that what you think is healthy eating, may actually not be at all. I would suggest a meal tracking app. I love My Fitness Pal. I actually learned a really important thing from it today....I went to a restaraunt with my family, and while they all had burgers and fries, I ordered a chicken wrap. Spinach tortilla, grilled chicken, veggies...I thought I made a good choice. I put it in My Fitness Pal AFTER I ate it, to learn the darn thing was over 800 calories. KellyAnn
Right Kelly??? I hear ya. You think you are eating great and that dang wrap was crazy in calories. Go figure. It is the same way with salads, think you are making a great choice and it is loaded with calories. btw, It is ok to cheat once in awhile, we give it Saturdays, trust me, if you give it one day, you will be fine. Your body actually will burn more. We do it Saturdays. Healthy breakfast and then cheat the rest of the day. Eat what you want. It works. Happy Running!
