Raisinpaw
So, slight background that may or may not be relevant: back in March my calf muscle partially tore away from my Achilles. Couldn't walk except on tiptoe for a month. All healed up and graduated PT. That's a big part of why I was motivated to start C25K. My leg muscles are weak and inflexible. And apparently prone to tearing. Ow! So, I've barely started. I'm 2 runs in. Almost immediately upon starting to run after my walking warm up, my lower legs, I think it's the soleus muscles? Are so sore/fatigued. I feel it along the outer sides of my lower legs wrapping around down to the front at the bottom. I try to suck it up and push through it in hopes that I'll build up some strength and it'll be okay eventually. It does not feel like injury, and I feel little if any soreness the next day. The run otherwise feels easy. I'm not out of breath or anything. Just legs on fire. One thought is, I walk up a hill before starting to run and the soreness starts then. It Intensifies once I run. Maybe I would be better off driving to a level spot so I don't tire my muscles on a hill before I even begin? Should I keep repeating week 1 until this subsides? Put off running entirely and work on hill walking until it's easy? Something else?
