ciscovarmint
Hello runners! I have been struggling with finding the motivation to run. When I first started C25K, I had a coworker that was doing it as well. I have run my first 5k, and have another one on August 2nd. Unfortunately, my coworker has bad knees, and can only run on a treadmill, and I have lost my "competition". Does anyone have any suggestions? zombiechic
I don't have a person to run with either, but my dog is always willing! Except when I decide to do the 3rd lap, she usually runs home and waits on the porch. I do use a fitbit also so I try to pass the next person or two on my leaderboard. I did have a friend who ran the local barbarian race with me, my first race, but after that she decided running just isn't her thing. AJARMOMMY
We have a local fb group of ladies that run in our community. I think it's great to get motivation from there and to ask for a running buddy.
Guest Don Stillwell
Create your motivation. IE: personal bests in time or distance. You create it. As you see injuries may plague your running companion or even yourself. I myself had knee issues getting started. I have brought my wife along for the ride when she can run too. It works out that I do my runs every other day and her runs in between. I shoot for times and distance. Not where I want to be. But a lot closer than 5 months ago when I started running again after over 30 years not running.
TeacherA
My running 'partner' lives in another town. We have run a 5k together, and message each other daily to motivate and encourage! dminear60 and slowlychanging23
Arneyam
I have found myself with the same problem. I have moved to the next town and finished the C25K last year with a group of ladies. Now I hve to run as a loner and find it really boring. I find myself talking myself out of running very easily and have to force myself to go. I also have a new injury and have found it harder to run myself in fear of hurting myself more and not having no one to help me.
