I used C25K two years ago and almost completed it, but I got really sick and couldn't, then I started running at the gym and lifting to help look good in my bridesmaid dress at my sisters wedding. Lost a total of 12lbs and looked amazing! Then work got out of control busy and I got lazy...stopped working out, stopped running and ate like crap and gained it ALL back! Now I'm ready to get back into shape as if I have another wedding to be in! W1D1 done today!!! It was 85 degrees out but I completed it, sweet and all!

I started today, for the 2nd time in 4 years. I was on a good streak 4 yrs ago and was doing 5ks with in 2 months. It wasn't long before i reached my weight loss goal and... got injured, that i stopped running. Per Dr orders to take it easy. Well here i am with the weight back on and feeling pretty unhealthy at the age of 38. Running was true bliss for me when i got good at it... So screw dr orders - I'm back in the game (but not gonna kill myself or injure myself to get there). DAY 1 COMPLETE! #dontgiveup

I just started the C210K today! W1D1 done! And I even went to the gym after to use the weight machines. I am hoping to run my first 5K in the fall, but I figured why not set my goals a little higher and train for a 10K? I have never ran for long distances, only for basketball and tennis, and that was back in 2006!

  • 2 weeks later...

Today was my w1d1 and I totally did not die! I will be 54 in January and have NEVER. EVER. ran for excercise before. Or consistently worked out at all for that matter . I was always thin growing up and never had to work at it. Well, after a hysterectomy it has all gone south! I am getting so thick around my middle it is awful! I never thought I'd get in this bad of shape but I'm there. And it stinks. I am hopeful and counting on this community to keep me accountable and motivated! I love knowing I'm not in this alone!
