Guest Erinscissorhands75
I am new to this running and just did my first couch to 5k day. I don't understand how people enjoy running.... Will it get better? Will I learn to love it? All of my friends love it and I simply don't get it! KellyAnn
Hi Erin, Some people hate running, if you are one of them, how about speed walking when it says to run? I used to run all the time and it is hard on your joints. When I found these apps I was thrilled as I feel like I push myself. I love it. Now, if I do not feel like running, I walk really really fast. AS long as you are moving, you are working out. I love challenging myself. Good Luck to you, YOU ARE YOU, go at your own pace... Guest Mich
Good advice Kelly! And Erin, I was the same as you when I started. I always HATED running and never understood why people did it, but then I signed up for a 10k and started c210k. I found a friend to hold me accountable, and I was 'required' to send them a screenshot of my completed workout after each run. After about 3 weeks or so, I have to say that I started looking forward to those days, and now that I'm 7 weeks in I'm just itching to run on my off days too! Give it some time, and make it fun for you. It's a million times easier when you enjoy it!

Guest Marika
Hi! I have to say I felt the same as you at first. However, I wanted to challenge myself with something new and different. I'm not a runner but I think I'm slowly becoming one. I justfinished week 5 yesterday and did my first non stop 20 min run. I felt awesome afterward! Don't get me wrong ... My negative ego was tryong to give me a hundred excuses that I wouldn't be able to fo it while I was walkimg out the door to go running but I just kept kicking out my thoughts with positive chatter instead and it helped for sure! I started running because I had a baby ( second one) last February and I have had the pressure of a holiday to Hawaii coming up (oct 6th) and I'm still not fully there on the weight loss but I feel way more confident and firmed up than if I hadn't have started the c25k. I run with my baby in her chariot stroller as its the only way I can guarantee uninterrupted exercise time so my little one and I do it together. I think she actually loves it too! Anyway, keep at it... One day it will probably just all fall into place! I can actually say I miss it if I miss a session now which there has been a few stops and starts due to a house move and some other things going on that have stopped me from being able to go but I have just kept at it and if I miss one then I will just redo the last session before I move on again. Keep it up! You will probably end up getting quite good at running!

KellyAnn
Hi Trish, You can run however you want to . We are approaching winter now and I might have to get a treadmill. I sold one but I want the Nordic Track one and they are $$$$$$$. Yes Marika, it does get addicting. I was sick last week and only ran once and went to two exercise classes and i am missing it, and now it snowed today, lol and is freezing outside. Yikes... Good Luck you all!
