App pausing during run

Help - I'm into week 8 and my app keeps pausing during the runs. I use iPhone 6 and the Apple Watch. It does the warmup, but when I finish the run the timer on the app tells me I still have 14 mins left - I've restarted the phone prior to running, I've switched off all other apps and tried it on an armband v pocket. I've locked the screen. Any suggestions welcome

I experienced the same issue during W5 D3. I ran for an eternity but according to the app I had only been running 3 1/2 minutes! Runkeeper and the iPhone health app showed I had run 10min longer then I was given credit for. I have an IPhone 6S running 10.0.2

Same thing is happening with me from day one. I've got "Always On (Disable Sleep)" enabled/on and playing music on Spotify in the background. iOS 10 on an iPhone 6s Plus.

Weird example: I started stretching when there were two minutes left of the cool down according to the app (but had been at it for 34 minutes already). I locked the phone, continued stretching, then I heard the usual announcement when you finish a run. 20 minutes later, after shower, I unlock my phone and the app is counting down from about two minutes! Then when that finishes I hear the announcement again.

Some walk phases last for at least three minutes.

What on earth is going on. Is this a known issue? Is it being handled? I'd rather switch to another similar app than wait months for a fix or a workaround.
