migz
Hello and thanks for dropping by. I am 55 years young, grandmother of 5 boys and after being diagnosed with Severe Rheumatoid Arthritis made a decision to become fit and healthy. Is no easy feat however, but I have lost over 20lbs and try my best to workout 4/5 days a week. On Feb 23rd made the decision to quit smoking after 42 years. It has not been so bad and I am happy to say today is 18 days smoke free. I am so excited that beginning Monday I am going to train for my 1st 5K. Granted I never ran a day in my life, other than as a child lol.... so this journey is going to be amazing.. Any advise will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Keep motivated and keep doing the program, and before you know it you'll be running 5k's, and you'll continue to improve your time from there on out! Keep it up!!! NeverGiveUp
Drink plenty of water, stretch, and make sure you have great running shoes. I went to a running store and had someone help me. It made such a difference. I know you have drive and motivation with all you've accomplished. You're making life better for you and your grandkids. Way to go! Thanks Congratulations on quitting the cigarettes and your decision for a healthier lifestyle. I started sea to 5K about 10 weeks ago, I was 230# and most definitely a couch potato. I lost 15 pounds and was able to complete the program and run 5K. Just don't give up you can do this!! Catherine
