Reschrand
I'm really struggling with week 3. I just finished day 3 but I will prob need to repeat this week because I couldn't do the run for 3 mins straight without having to stop and walk. My legs just hurt so bad. I've tried stretching and using a foam roller and nothing seems to take away the soreness and pain while I run. I am overweight so maybe that's why it's so hard. I did so well with week 1 & 2 but now I'm really struggling with week 3. Starting to feel like I can't even do a full 5k. And second guessing myself and thinking that I can't do this. Any advice is helpful.
torus_ot
If I can complete this, you can do too! Very often mistake is do not take "rest" day. The C25K is program you run 3 days per week. I walk, stretch and do upper body strength exercises on the rest days. Also try to reduce your pace, do not worry about the speed. If I remember correctly my first 3 week i was "running" 3.5 mph. Now I walking with this speed and running 5.5 mph. But now I can run for 40min or 3.1 miles! It is huge for me! Chi Gal
Torus is right about the speed. I was having trouble the first week and couldn't run any of the intervals all the way through. But then I reduced my pace (I saw the same suggestion in another thread) and I've been able to run all the intervals since! I'm running W3D2 tomorrow and I'm looking forward to it!
