GoingToDoA5K-ifitkillsme
I groaned about week 3, but did Day 1 completely. I haven't been able to complete day 2 completely though. On the second 3 minute run I only make it 2.5 minutes. I've restarted that day 3 times, but my legs give out. I am really overweight so I am just getting back to it, and trying to be proud of what has been accomplished, but frustrated I can't complete the second 3 minute run. I am determined to do a 5K by the Spring but was hoping to stick closer to the program and complete it by Christmas. Anyone having the same struggle or can offer tips? Guest TrishE
You have to be patient with yourself I know its hard but you have to remember what youre putting your body through is tough. Its tough for those people who aren't over weight. You'll get there. It's a long journey Try slowing your pace down as much as you can. It'll feel like you can walk faster but this will still work the muscles in your legs you use for running. I hope this helps.

Onegolfgal
I'm having a very hard time with week three as well. My lungs give out. What should I be doing on the off days to keep up my endurance?. Every time I attempt W3D1 it feels like I've never done it before.
Onegolfgal
And also, I've read that you should belly breathe. And I've read that you should expand your chest. Which is it?
Speedingsloth
Hey onegolfgal, I've had the problem and sometimes still do where my lungs give out. I've found that breathing through the mouth to be really helpful. That allows for more air and deeper breathing and on occasion help with the side stitch. I dont have a specific work out plan on rest days but i try to take the stairs up to the office, more so on rest days or I might do a 5k walk
