acamden
I was doing very well for most of this year as far as diet and exercise go. It seems that I have lost my motivation. I have good intentions, but fail to follow through. What are some tips or things that you do to stay motivated or reignite the motivation? Guest Guest
I find myself in a rut as well. As far as diet goes, I make up a menu for the week, get groceries specific to the meals planned. This way I don't have junk food stuff in the house. When it come to the exercise part, I must have an accountability person. Either a workout friend, or just to encourage me. Helena Davis
Having an exercise buddy definitely helps. I love listening to music when I'm exercising. You could also keep a record of everything that you are doing and put it on the front of the fridge. Some of my clients find it helpful to buy a new pair of jeans and put them up somewhere where you see them all the time. New beginnings!! They can't be old jeans as there can be an emotional connection involved which can cause a road block for you. This is usually pretty motivating for them :-) akanksha
MåRíA
I compete with myself. I try to run faster or further than the last time. It just helps me because even if I'm only faster by half a minute, it's progress and I celebrate it. Celebrating these victories, off the scale or the wardrobe, keep me motivated long term. When I'm craving chips but I grab a bag of nuts and run out the grocery store, I celebrate that too!
KellyAnn
I have a friend who works out with me. I love it. I am good on my own too. I love the Zen Lab apps as you can do short bursts of exercise with the apps.
Guest Leo
Working in a buddy system is best. Been exercising with a pal from college
KellyAnn
Nice Leo. I am now workout out on my own. While I love the friend I've been working out with, my time is not being respected and after 8 months of always waiting on her, she's never on time, doesn't show up, when she says 7 am, she then shows up at 7:30. It is so hard for me to get ready at 7 am and when I do, I'm always waiting. Now , I've know her for 12 years here where I live. Never ever have we hung out Except at church. One day earlier this year she called me and asked if I'd workout with her cuz she knew that I always exercised. So I'm like sure. But after 8 months , I'm done. If you don't respect my time to train you and are always late or just don't show, I'm so over it. Am I wrong??? I don't think so. I had fun with her and we laughed but it's not a game to me. Either you show up or you don't ask someone to teach you where I normally make $! Training people. Ok rant over. I feel bad about telling her I'm done with her but I need to put my foot down. I do great by myself.

KellyAnn
Hi Kenzie, Thanks so much, I actually like being alone , but it was fun to have a buddy. She just did not respect my time at alll. She asked to workout with me, not the other way around. I like my freedom now, but I did enjoy the workout buddy. Guest Guest
Sounds like you are correct with your feelings and way of thinking. It's rude to be late continually especially when she's the one who recruited you to help her. You did the right thing. My dad always told me " It's good to help people but when you feel stupid it's time to stop"
Guest Guest
When it comes to diet and exercise with me I tend to get bored. That's what slows me down. I love cooking so I look up new recipes or new workouts to keep me energized. Or do little changes with my current ones. Like instead of just running on the flat treadmill I'll do incline intervals or if I am running outside I'll take a route I haven't taken before. A new meal I have never tried or a new place or workout I've never done makes for something to look forward to.
