When to eat with running?

I have just finished week 4 and moving on to week 5. My husband and I are doing this together and neither of us are able to run until about 7pm at night (work schedule). Morning is not an option either. The problem I'm having.... Is where do I fit dinner in? We've been just doing protein shakes on the night after our run. Is this enough? Is there a time frame before or after a run you should wait? Thanks for any help anyone can give me. BTW... I do weight watchers and am trying to get most of my points in each day

Hi There Liza,

So proud of you and your hubby.  Welcome here.  I love reading posts like this.       I would die to run with my hubby, uh nope, no way.  So, enjoy while you can.

Weight Watchers is awesome...   So, If you guys run at 7 pm, can you fit a light dinner in at about 4:30 or so?   Light dinner, like a protein and veggies?   There is nothing wrong with having a protein shake in place of a meal.  Make sure it is a good one.   WHo says we have to eat 3 meals a day and snacks???  I am so not on a food schedule anymore.   I usually eat breakfast around 9 or 10 am, (I know if you work, it is hard), eggs, meat, fruit.  About 2-3 pm, I eat a bigger meal, like grilled meats, veggies..  Now, if you run at 7 pm, this is perfect.  THen at night , late, like 8 pm, I eat a bowl of soup, with cheese and crackers..  That is where your shake comes in.    If this could fit in, then do ti, but working full time, it would be tough.   I have lost 20lbs. in the last few months by eating when I was hungry and not because the clock says breakft time, lunchtime and dinnertime...

Anyways, hope you get it figure out.   Just eat lighter later in the evening, You do not have to eat a big meal.

Good Luck and thanks for sharing.. :D  :D
