hjpopp
I got through run 3, skipped run 4 and started again on run 5. That's about the same time my calfs and shins hurt so bad I had to stop. Is the burning sensation normal? Is there anything I can do to help prevent it before I start? I have been walking a mile about 3-4 times a week for the past two months. It thought that would have helped!
Guest TrishE
Welcome hjpopp! Its alright running is a total body work out and each of our bodies react differently to the pressure put on it when we first start the program. It sounds like shin splints. Theres a great post on those under the injury section of the forums. Make sure youre stretching out before you exercise. Do a quick warm up, a short walk, stretch then run. I hope that helps. Keep your head up, you can do this.
KellyAnn
Hi there, Make sure you stretch your muscles when they are warm. You might want to take Ibuprofen before you go out. Keep us posted. Woohooooo!!!
