Welcome abrockettwister! 

My two tips are always 1. invest in a good pair of running shoes. If you can swing it, theyre worth what they cost. 2. Diet is half the battle, even if youre not trying to lose weight. When youre a runner you body needs good fuel to work with, other wise your runs will not be beneficial or enjoyable.
