ChattyCookie
I'm 41 & have never ran (aka I've never had a bear chase me). Something happens to a woman's body at 40. You get super squishy (yuk). I need to loose a few pounds (a toddler actually) & running will make that happen for me. I've been doing Advocare for the last 1.5 months and have lost 20 pounds already. Today was Day 1 of running. I struggled!! Here's what I learned.... I look like an injured animal running. I need new tennis shoes. I need something to strap down the girls. I need to find a Pandora channel & customize it for running (that slow stuff was not motivational). I need to wear a ponytail. I don't need to wear a jacket even on a cool day. I finished it (not perfectly but I kept moving the whole time). I need to take Aleve before I start (bad knees & hips - they aren't used to moving much) That's my story - & I'm sticking to it !!! KellyAnn
Hi ChattyCookie, Oh my gosh. You are so funny. I love it. Welcome here and Congratulations on your first run. Woohoo. You did it!!!!!!!!! Yes. You do need great shoes, strap down those girls. Lol. Etc. I love how you described it all. Hilarious. I bet you don't look like an animal running at all. And if you do, those driving by in a car are sitting on thier butts and you are moving, just wave as you go on by. I am sooo proud of you. Keep it up and keep us posted!! Guest TrishE
Welcome! Congrats on your first day but dont worry every run day you will learn something new that will help for next time. Soon though your routine will be second nature and it will all become part of your day Good shoes and a couple of good sports bras are very important and worth what they will cost if you can swing it. Dont worry about what you look like, any woman who is confident enough to get out there and exercise, who is working to make herself healthy and strong, is a beautiful thing no matter what. I wish you the best of luck and know we are all here for help and encouragement if need be!
