39yr male (40 in may)

 

always been active, but slightly over weight, quit smoking a year and a half ago.

 

iv'e never enjoyed running, i think partly because i had not put the effort in to actually give it a go.

after staring back at Tae-Kwon-Do after a 18yr break, it was very clear i had no Cardio.

a friend on FB was doing a C25K app, so i thought why not ..

 

I'm on week 7 day 3, i have ran two 5k Park run events which is really enjoyable, my last one i did in 26:31"official time"post-5603-0-77996900-1426941003_thumb.jpg

my calf's do hurt a lot after, but i will be doing some hill sprints to strengthen them.

after i finish the 5k app i would like to carry on to the 10k too, so that's my goal for the year.

 

if there is anything i would say to someone starting this app, it would be, dont worry about week 5, i found both day 2 and day 3 easier than day 1!!!

and to any males out there, we all know about girls needing proper sports bra's, or buying correct shoes ..

well two weeks ago i brought some Kalenji boxer shorts, made for runners, i wish i had found them sooner, no thigh rubbing and extremely comfortable, highly recommended!

 

anyway .. big thanks to Zen labs, you are helping to change my life for the better :)
