Guest Kelly E
Hello hope you are all enjoying your new year so far! I'm Kelly...on the outside I'm relitivly slim, tall (5ft11) and to the outside I would be classes as fit and healthy!!! However, I couldn't run for a bus!!! I have a full time desk job and excersise is my least favourite thing to do!!! This year I really want to get fit...I sort of mentioned this to my boss, he said do a half marathon in October..then for some reason I said your on!!! I did day 1 w1 and it nearly killed me..But I did do it...I have absolutely no idea how on earth I think I can run 13.1 miles by October if I can only just run 60 seconds...it's soul destroying and I'm completely negative but I really really want to prove all my doubters wrong, and more importantly prove to myself I have it in me..I need all the help I can get!!! Thanks for listening..Kelly x

Timb113
Kelly, you can most certainly do it! I started the program (for the third time) this past June and ran a pair of 5Ks in August, and just this week tackled my first 10K. I've got plans for a 10-mile race in a few weeks and I'm researching a half marathon. 10 months is plenty to train to be able to handle that distance, but remember, it doesn't mean you have to run the entire distance. I've never been to a race of that length, but my guess is most of the people are run/walking 13.1 miles. Take your time, and look at the small goals. Trying to look from W1D1 to 13.1 is a big jump. Just look to get to the next day and the next week of the program, and you'll do great!
Mike
You can do it. I finished week 8 on 1/1/15 with a 5k run. My time was 31.36. I was so happy I did it. I don't think I ever ran that far without walking. I'm 40 lbs overweight and this app has really helped me. Mike
TheRoseWithin~Shannon
You can do it Kelly!! I loved what Tim shared and feel it is a vitally important reminder, (especially for me) "Take your time, and look at the small goals. Trying to look from W1D1 to 13.1 is a big jump. Just look to get to the next day and the next week of the program, and you'll do great!" And Kelly, I would love to hear how you progress. Hope you check out the forum Accountability 2015! Amazing support from other members and a way to keep your progress all in one spot! Lastly, the most important and empowering part of your sentence, for me, is in red, "but I really really want to prove all my doubters wrong, and more importantly prove to myself I have it in me." Yep! The MOST important person you need to convince, is you. Let the rest go. Their doubt about you, (assumed or actual) is about them, not you. Self-doubt is more powerful, or more dis-empowering than any doubt coming from outside influence. Besides, your success is and will be proof enough! <3 Cheers!
