  1. I started the Couch 2 5k app in Mid-February 2017. I never ran before now. I'm 37 and way out of shape. I have two children and have been inactive for about 15 years. I have Psoriatic Arthritis and Degenerative Discs in my spine and Chiari Maformation. For years I used this as an excuse. I'm too tired. Too much pain. Blah blah blah. I ran my first 5k two days ago. I ran another 5k today. It feels so good to hit my goal in less time than I thought. I was running almost everyday. When i I started I wasn't able to do Day 1 Week 1 completely. I was huffing and puffing. Get out there! If I can do it, You can do it!
  2. Hi there! I decided to start the program for a similar reason. I have 2 kids and I want to do what I can to try and be healthy so I be be around to see them for many years to come. Stick with the program! Some days you will wake up sore - if you can just keep going you will be glad you did. The best part is having the app tell you when to run and when to walk. Using knowledge that many others that came before us put together. Im on Week 6 Day 3 - 22 minute jog tonight. I did a 20 minute run a few days ago. I was so out of breath on Week 1 Day 1 - it's been an amazing transformation. I am happier, more energy, I have less pain and all around feel better. Keep it up!
  3. I have Psoriatic Arthritis, Christi Malformation and Degenerative Disc Disease. Psoriatic Arthritis is the disease that Phil Mickelson (golfer) has and is on TV commercials for a medication (Humira). This is an autoimmune disease in which the body's white blood cells attack the body's joints and connective tissues. I take muscle relaxers and pain medicines every day. Running does cause me pain but I already have pain even when I don't run. For a long time I told myself I didn't feel well enough to exercise. It hurt too much. Blah blah blah. Now I realize it doesn't matter if I exercise or not...I will hurt either way. How do I dry out my CamelBak bladder? The package says to put it in the freezer. Does anyone have any experience with this? Is there a better way?
  4. Hello all! I am a 37 year old father of two active boys. I have been inactive for about 15 years. I started the C25K app about 4 or 5 weeks ago. I am running more frequently than the 3 days a week and so I am in the 6th week of the program. Two days ago I did the 20 minute non-stop run. Whew! That was exciting! I am am so happy that I found this program. It makes it so much easier to know what to do so that I don't over do things. I've tried before and pretty quickly overdid it and hurt myself (not bad) and quit. I would have never believed you if you told me a month ago that I would be able to run for 20 minutes non stop! It feels good!! Does anyone one have any advice for me? Am I over doing things by having only skipped 2 days so far this month? I hope not - I really enjoy running. Im about to get a camelbak so I can drink water while I run. I'm typically going about 2 1/2 miles at s time right now. Working up to a 5k and then who knows. Any suggestions on what to watch out for on CamelBak? Is there a brand that's just as good but cheaper? someone told me to make sure I tie my shoes correctly for my stride. Any idea what that means?
