khatt11
I need help with training beyond the C210K distance. I work three to five 12 hour shifts per week and am having a difficult time keeping to a training shedule due to my irregular schedule, being exhausted from work, and need to sleep during the day. I'm willing to try anything because I really love to run! jeannie
jeannie
HI Khatt11, I've got the same problem, I work 14hr night shifts, 4pm until 6am and I,m finding it difficult to do anything during the week. I can only manage 3-4 hrs sleep during the day and I'm exhausted. I am following the c25k distance just to be able to run without stopping. My work week is Monday to Thursday inclusive. so any advice would be welcome as well
Guest Elise
I work 12-13hr night shifts and I have the same problem. I take it easy during the week then run my off days. So off 4 Ina row then run 3 days in a row. I have friends who run before they go in to work. I haven't been able to. The other thing so u get more sleep is melatonin. It's natural and doesn't give u that drowsy feeling when u wake up even if it's just a long nap.

Guest Anirun
I also work 12hr night shift 3-4 nights a week. I run after 2 of my shifts. I sleep so much better on those days. I try to have a snack around 4/5 am so I have the energy to run. My runs are between 5k and 5mi and last 35-55min depending on the distance.
