I’ve always wanted to be a runner but always had immediate shin and lower leg pain. I’ve have just gone and been properly fitted in new running shoes. I’m starting the first week of C25K and still having the same issue. It goes away when I stop running and my muscles don’t stay sore. It’s only when I’m running. Any suggestions?

I hope it does, too.

If you are in the habit of going barefoot, wearing flip-flops, or sandals that don't have any kind of lift in the heel then wearing typical running shoes would put a stress on your legs.

If your new shoes don't help and if wearing minimalist shoes doesn't help, you might try doing an internet search on the problems you're having, and you might consider going to a sports doctor to see if they have any ideas.
