Hi All, I'm Ian from South Wales, I'm going to start the 10k program tomorrow, let myself go a little bit and having struggled with mental health issues & suicidal thoughts.  I've decided taking up running, losing a bit of weight and getting fit may help with my what's in my head!!

Haven't really got anyone in my life that really encourages me.  So thought I'd stick a flag up in here and see what happens.

Take care

Ian

Hey Ian,

Awesome work on starting the 10k! I started the 5k program two days ago. When relocation happened I got lazy, and that’s putting it mildly. I have put on more weight than I would like to and know that part of it has to do with my own thoughts about myself. I commend your start in the program, keep working at it. Remember this is a slow process, body adjusting our bodies and our minds.

Hi Ian,

I started the 5k program this week and just discovered the forums. I saw your post and was wondering how you're coming along with the 10k program? Good for you for starting a running program to improve your health in all ways. I recently read an article about people who use to stave off depression and anxiety and how it has really helped them. I wish you all the best!

Hello Ian,

Well done for starting. Every day for me was a new discovery that I could actually do this stuff when for years I have done nothing. I finished the C25K last week and so, not knowing what to do next, I loaded the C210k and started on week 9. I have just finished week 9 tonight. The other weeks to 5k seemed to step up nicely. This week's extension to 6k has left me feeling that I am at my limit. No doubt I will switch on the app again on Monday but each session is a real effort. Didn't we used to be able to retire at 60?!
