Lizard
So, I'm really interested in learning to run with this app, but I have a few concerns about my health. A little under a year ago, I started having back problems and found out that I have 3 herniated discs in my lower back. Since the discs are meant to help with absorbing to shock from running and bouncing and all that, I'm afraid of hurting myself or causing these problems to get worse. Does anyone have any tips on how to not hurt myself, or maybe make running have a little less impact on my spine?
Crabapple
It's really sad that so many of these old posts have zero answers. I often wonder if they ever found answers somewhere else, and if they even read these forums anymore.

I am guessing they didn't stick around and or didn't decide to go with the app. I think too there might be a lot of turn around on this forum. People may not get with the program and just disappear or once they complete c25k they don't have a use for the forum anymore. Not entirely sure... only guessing here. Crabapple
I suspect that taking on a project like going from couch to a 5K run probably has a high dropout rate, like you said. It definitely isn't easy, and I can imagine it's more difficult for someone with physical health problems or who has a lot of weight to lose. I really admire those people who keep on plugging on. They are such a good example for people like me who really want to give up sometimes. For example, that relative of yours is very inspiring. Crabapple
I've also thought the same thing: that people probably just disappear once they finish the c25k. There's a good chance that I might do that, but not after the 5K in April. More likely after my 10K in October.
CleBkPkr
I think it would be hard to not keep in touch with people after sharing our struggles and triumphs through the program.
Crabapple
I would definitely miss you and a couple others. If I only accessed the forum on a computer, I think I'd be more likely to stick around. Accessing it through the app means that I might not think of coming here once I stop using the app. I am supposing the forum is available online. It is on line so it's just as easy to access as it is through the phone app! Stay in touch! Crabapple
