Zach
So I was a sprinter in highschool. I played football and ran the 100 and 200m but now I'm joining the Navy and they focus more on long distance running. I've been running into the problem where I start off way too fast and my body just isn't used to running more than 800m like at all. Any tips on how to adjust to this? Zach
Also the test I have to train for is a 1.5 mile run in less than 12:30 but I'd like to get it to below 10:00 if possible. So I have to run about a 6:30ish mile pace. Should I start at that pace and run that pace as long as possible or should I start with a slower time but longer distance? torus_ot
I would think that you need to train for both speed and endurance, so alternate long runs days with speed intervals training. I also think you need seek more advice from pro-runners...
