Guest Egypt
I haven't really worked out in the past two years, and I haven't really been walking. I'm a stay at home mom and all I do is stay in the house. I started C25K W1D1 today and had terrible chin splints. I probably ran 45 seconds of the 30 minutes because I was in so much pain. Three things; I'm walking on concrete, I don't have the right running shoes, and I haven't walked a long distance in about 3 months. I know those all factored into the chin splits. Did anyone else experience chin splints, if so how long before you weren't in pain walking/ jogging?
Guest Grao
I have had these before and learned to stretch before and after (more expert runners may have other views on how much stretching is needed but for me, a beginner, it helps loosen up the muscles both before and after). Also starting the walking first and then short runs will help build stamina. Final suggestion is to get fitted for good shoes at a running store. My splints went away in a few weeks but again everyone is different! Keep it up!

Guest Crystal
I bought compression sleeves and shoe inserts meant to keep your arches arched. So far it's been 5 weeks and my shin splints are feeling way way way better!
