App Skipping Parts of Run When Music is On

I just ran week 4 day 3 yesterday. I just started using my iTunes playlist through the app a few runs ago. The first two times it worked fine. Yesterday it skipped over the last 3 minute run interval and told me to start walking when I was already walking waiting to begin the 3 minute run. Instead I ended up walking longer and it went straight to the last 5 minute interval.

This also happened to my friend ever since she started listening to music through the app as well. Anyone know how to fix this issue? Thanks!
