Hey

I am a newbie to running and going to the gym. Since the new year I have had a complete change in mindset of getting into shape and eating well. So far so good that I have lost 2 stone!

I have started week 5 of the running program today for the 10k but it's the first time I have struggled with my calf muscles being really tight and painful that I had to stop. Has anyone got any tips?

Thank you :)

Amy

First congratulations on getting started! As far as the pain have you tried stretching? Your muscles tend to get tighter when you start to run, stretching is a very important part of getting fit and healthy. Alsi you can try foam rolling the are and even take a hot bath with some epsom salt, it definitely helps w the sore muscles. Hope this helps
