amysnow76
Im confused. When My Fitness Pal, or some other such app gives you extra calories in a day that you exercise, do you use them?
Guest TrishE
Hello Im a little lost about what youre asking. They show calories burned when doing exercise and they add them back into your total calories you can consume.
amysnow76
But if you were but if you were trying to lose weight should you consume the extra calories? Is it necessary to eat them? Christinapapou
Guest TrishE
Thats a tough question. I would think yes because youre already consuming less to lose weight. By losing even more while exercising you'd be coming in under a healthy number. As long as the food is healthy consuming the calories you lost wont stop you from losing weight. Id love to know what other people think as well. id hate to be wrong haha
Christinapapou
No you shouldn't eat the calories. Exercising is suppose to help you lose weight. When you eat your calorie intake for the day depending on what you have programmed it at then you will lose that weight with that (1lbs or 2a week,...) Exercising will help you lose an extra pound or so depending how much you do in a week. Exercising is also suppose help your metabolism and get you toned, fit, and healthier. Also remember to do weight every other day to help your muscles continue to burn calories even when you're not exercising. I would also ask a dietician or Dr that might have the right answer for you. This is just my opinion/ my common sense lol
Guest TrishE
Good point but you also dont want your body to go into starvation mode. Thats when it thinks youre starving so it actually start storing fat away instead of burning it. You may lose an extra few pounds but gain back quicker than you would if youre eating a healthy amount of calories
