srgclbd7 Posted July 11, 2015 Report Share Posted July 11, 2015 Hi, I'm 45, slightly overweight, and haven't ran for 7-8 years. I just finished week 2 day 3 but it was really tough getting through it because my knees hurt every time I was on the jogging increments. Should I be doing some type of therapy for my knees on my off days to get them stronger or is this just a normal issue when there is extra weight? I would put a cold compress on them after your run to help ease the pain and draw down any inflammation that may have been caused, but I recommend seeing a doctor before anything else to determine if you have any soft tissue damage (like a meniscus tear).
