My sister and I are wanting to get into shape and try to complete a 5k in august. I recently 7 weeks ago had a c-section and have been released from Dr to start working out lightly and running. Does anyone have any advice on other exercises I could be doing to help my progress!! I can't do straight into hard ab workouts. Anything helps . Thank you in advance.

Welcome Amay0926!

Yoga is great when youre still recovering from baby or csection or any kind of surgery because it ranges from light stretches and body weight poses to more intense poses later on when youre fully recovered. I did yoga after I had my son and it really helped a lot not only with the toning but the stretching and breathing really helped relax me when being a mommy was starting to get a smidge overwhelming. It still does now that my sons a toddler haha. I hope this helps. Good luck :)

Oh good :) and the nice thing about a lot of poses is that there are ways to make them easier on the body, alterations you can make so your not over stressing your muscles. I hope you find some good classes. Going to a professional is amazing. Doing yoga at all is great but having someone who knows the poses inside and out and can help you is so much better.
