Oh Ruth Im sorry it hurts :( Running is complete body workout so your muscles will definitely feel it. Think of it as a good thing though this means your muscles are working out the way they should. Theyre sore because youre breaking them down with every work out. When they rest on your days off they start rebuild only stronger. They wont hurt for long, until then I recommend ibuprofen and icy hot, they have been lifesavers for me
